An eyewitness uploaded dazzling footage of earthquake lights that appeared in the skies over Mexico City shortly after the quake with the epicenter 123km south-west of the town of Pijijiapan, in the southern state of Chiapas, at a revised depth of 69km.

The quake occurred only one day after a X9.3 Solar storm and hours before Earth’s magnetosphere reacted to this solar storm with K >4 values.
