UC Berkeley Riots 2017

Just 1 day after I posted a video about Hollywood celebrities calling for violence against the elected US government and its supporters, violent protesters did indeed attack Berkley University, smashing windows, attacking and injuring 6 people, forcing the cancellation of a talk by blogger Milo Yiannopoulos. The masked, self-declared “anti -fa”(anti fascism) rioters were beating other students with flagploles, they “hurled Molotov cocktails that ignited fires,” and “smashed windows of the student union center on the Berkeley campus where the Yiannopoulos event was to be held.”

Sarah Silverman tweeted after the riots:
“WAKE UP & JOIN THE RESISTANCE. ONCE THE MILITARY IS W US FASCISTS GET OVERTHROWN. MAD KING & HANDLERS GO BYE BYE”

The major of Berkeley Jesse Arreguin did not criticize the violence when commenting on the events by tweeting: „Using speech to silence marginalized communities and promote bigotry is unacceptable. Hate speech isn’t welcome in our community.“ Paradoxically, Yiannopoulos is a gay Bit with a Jewish mother and immigration background. The media is careful to omit his minority group status.

Democratic Congresswoman Val Demings (FL) said on Thursday that the violent riots that took place on the UC Berkeley campus were a “beautiful sight.”

The Swiss newspaper Tages Anzeiger titled: “Trump-supporter  brought about violent protests in California.” (Trump-Anhänger sorgt für gewalttätige Proteste in Kalifornien)  making it appear as if Trump supporters had rioted.
