Arrested for sitting alone with a sign that says ‘freedom!’ The irony of a fascist regime

A peaceful anti-lockdown protester arrested in Zurich Switzerland on May 2, 2020 for wearing a sigh Freiheit! (Freedom). Keep in mind, millions of people are dying because of the global lookdown, not because of the virus.

  1. So you’re saying the Swiss government never stands up for the victims of oppression, exerts torture and takes children away from people for political reasons? Is that why you’re calling it a fascist regime? I’m just trying to understand your standpoint, which, to be honest, seems itself rather radical and quite distorted. I’ve lived in Switzerland for quite some time and did not have the same impression as is being portrayed here. I’ve seen some of that happening in other parts of the world though.

I guess a joke isn't good if one has to explain it. What is more ironic than having your freedom taking away for peacefully and legally demanding freedom, is when you are lectured about fascism by people who have never stood up for the real victims of real oppression, who have never been tortured, who have never had their children taken from them for political reasons.

  4. Even though one could easily attribute authoritarian qualities to some political measures that are being applied right now, I wouldn’t go as far as calling Switzerland a “fascist regime”. A pretty strong term to define a country you live in (mostly peacefully, I must assume). And what would exactly be the irony of it, even if it were one?
