Zurich, Switzerland, Even though Switzerland is one of the safest countries in Central Europe for now and has not have a major terror attack in recent years, security measures have been ramped up at Christmas markets. Police are patrolling with automatic rifles. Even neighbourhood children Christmas lantern marches are gardened by armed police. Secular concerts and exhibitions don’t have to be guarded. Terrorism experts say the reason why Switzerland has not have a large attack is because the country serves as a hub for the organised Islamic terror in Europe. Many shoppers with altered perception of reality now believe Christmas Markets were always heavily protected.
Almost1,000 people have been injured or killed in terrorist attacks fea- turing asylum seekers or refugees since 2014. Over the past four years, 16 percent of Islamist plots in Europe featured asylum seekers or refugees.
