Is the Earth flat? Here is a simple experiment which can be easily replicated, using a telescope or a pair of good binoculars and a digital camera held to the eye piece. A objet is observed form two different elevations of viewpoint. Lake Zurich, Switzerland, view from the town of Horgen to Zurich, Casio Lake Side, 2016. The used approx. differences in view point elevation and the approximate differences in viewing target elevation roughly compute to match the official Earth radius.

If anyone replicates this experiment (comparing TWO images taken from the different elevations of view point) in another location, please send me a link to your findings, so we can compare results. It would be interesting to find to what accuracy the Earth radius can be measured with a simple telescope. If you argue that the Earth is flat without presenting your own replication of this experiment, your comment will be deleted.
